Available Option Explanation
1.Display Student List - This will show all students which the teacher can currently look at. These students are attached to the current default file server and have run the Student program after running the NetWare shell. The teacher can view the screen of any student by moving the highlight bar to that student and pressing the Enter key. While viewing the student's screen, the teacher may press the Ins key which will disable the student's keyboard and allow the teacher to remotely enter commands at the student's workstation. To leave the Insert mode, the teacher must again press the Ins key. The Esc will return the teacher to the Student List.

2-3. Turn On/Off All Workstations
The teacher may turn off all student workstations. This can be used to get the students' attention when the teacher wishes to speek. When the workstations are turned off, the keyboardsds are also disabled. When the teacher turns the workstations back on, their screens are returned in their original, unmodified state.

4. Broadcast Screen to Students
This option will allow the teacher to demonstrate any software to the students. For this to work properly, the COMSPEC environment must point to a valid COMMAND.COM. In this option the teacher will receive a new DOS prompt and can then run any desired program. The teacher's screen will periodically be sent to all student screens. To leave this mode, the teacher must return to the DOS prompt and enter the command 'EXIT'.

5. Rebuild Student List
If students log-off of the network, or new students log-on to the network, this option should be executed so that the Student List can be updated.
6. Change Default Server
This will allow the teacher the ability to view students throughout the internet.
page 5 of 5, Esc to Exit
To view the screen of any of the students listed here, simply move the highlighted bar to that student (using the arrow, PgUp, or PgDn keys) and press the Enter key. That student's screen will then be displayed and updated on your monitor. If you wish to control that student's workstation, press the Ins key while viewing the students screen. The student's keyboard will then be locked-out and any keystroke which you type will be sent to the students workstation. To return control of the workstation back to the student, press the Ins key again. The Ins key, therefore, will toggle the control of the student's workstation back and forth between the teacher and the student.
To return to the Students List, insure that control of the student's workstation has been returned (if it was ever taken) and press the Esc key.
This command will broadcast your screen to all student's who are directly connected to your network (ie it won't broadcast to students who are connected via a bridge.) The environment variable COMSPEC must be pointing to a valid copy of command.com. To leave this mode, exit the program which you were demonstrating to your class and at the DOS prompt type EXIT. This will return you to your main menu and all student screens will return to their previous states.
If your demonstration program crashes, all student workstations should return control back to the students in about 10 seconds.
The current student list is a list of all workstations which are attached to your current server and have run the STUDENT shell program. If you wish to view students who are connected to other file servers, this option will allow you to change your current file server.
If the file server to which you wish to view is not listed, press the Ins key and you will be able to select any file server which is currently part of your internet.
